Software Engineer

As a software engineer at Dignio, you’ll be instrumental in developing, maintaining and improving both new and existing features on both the backend of our platform, as well as our client-facing apps. As a provider of critical services to patients and healthcare professionals, we never aim for anything but the highest standards where availability, security, and stability trumps release speed. You’ll be working in a cross-functional team consisting of product leads, designers, software/QA engineers working with modern technologies such as Python, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker. All experience levels are applicable to this position. Workplace can be Oslo or Fredrikstad.

Responsibilities

• Developing both existing and new services together with the rest of our tech team
• Working with new features on our client facing apps using the latest frontend technologies
• Understand the use cases and find the best solution for implementation
• Work close together with product owners, designers, and other key resources to develop the best solution for each case
• Develop clean, reusable and stable code that is able to meet the organization's high-quality standards
• Working on platform optimization to achieve maximum performance across different screens and locations
• Be part of our DevOps work processes to ensure that our products are available, secure and monitored at all times
• Utilize our day-to-day tools to make sure documentation and procedures are up to our high standards

We're looking for people who:

• Have a passion for clean, reusable, scalable and easily maintainable code that holds high quality
• Knowledgeable about backend development using modern, open-source technologies such as Python, Go, Scala or similar
• Have knowledge within database technologies such as PostgreSQL or similar
• Are interested in working with frontend development as well, having experience with modern frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Elm and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Are comfortable with working in a cloud based-environment like AWS 
• Enjoys to work both independently and in cross-functional teams together with product leads, designers and other technical resources
• Have experience using tools such as Git and Docker

• Enjoy working close to the end users to produce high quality software that is a joy to use

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience working with full-cycle software development, both front- and backend
• Higher education within Computer Science or similar, or relevant work experience
• Spoken and written English fluency (proficiency in Norwegian also preferred)
